How will the colour I’m wearing effect the person that I’m talking? When we understand that we can make our own judgements about how we present ourselves.

Being on tv has taught me a lot about myself

I had this ambition and drive to be on tv like many young people do so i thought thats what i’m suppose to do.

When i got the job on prime time, i think i realised that that didn’t make me happy, i was looking for more then that.

And when everyone tells you your a presenter, you got to be yourself, actually theres a limit because you have other people telling you how to present yourself.

If i had to do anything like that again, I needed to be free and to truly express myself, and work on projects that I wanted to work on.

So after leaving the media, I was asked to run a workshop teaching young girls how to raise their confidence, to bring out their skillset, the best in them. And what I found was that every child i’ve worked with, had a negative view of themselves. They felt a pressure to be themselves, or represent themselves in a certain way.

In the last 30 years, anxiety and depression has arose to 70% in young people, because of how things are idealised in the media.

I realised my experience in the media was a vital point for the workshops with children. I’ve been a makeup artist, been on shoots, I know how models look coming in and how they look walking out, and the end photo is not how the the model looks, because we’re all just normal people.

So I did workshops to challenge children’s thinking. To open there minds, to help them discover what makes them truly happy, and to help them express that.
Yes there is a level of expectations that goes with certain environments. And so what the journey i take people on is to understand the psychology of stuff. Being free to be who you need to be but understanding the message your giving out to other people.
How will the colour I’m wearing effect the person that I’m talking? When we understand that we can make our own judgements about how we present ourselves.
